During work, but also afterwards. Because you don’t only feel the comfort of your glove when you’re holding a jackhammer. You also want to feel it when you open the throttle of your Ducati Multistrada on your way home. The comfort of safety goggles isn’t limited to that daytime welding job. You should also reap the benefits when you proudly watch your daughter in her final musical in the evening.

And while comfortable safety shoes pay for themselves daily on the concrete, you appreciate them even more when you make a dash for it on the grass on Saturday, tapping in the 2-1. OXXA provides protection and comfort. But most of all, it protects everything we feel comfortable with. The jobs with co-workers. The moments with family and the time with our friends. The past, the present and the future. With OXXA, we defend our comfort zone. And the ability to step outside it, if we want to. Total protection, of everything we hold dear. From everything that makes time, quality time.

OXXA® is visible

In the coming period, and especially later in 2021, you’ll see the renewed OXXA® everywhere. If not on your device or the radio, then along the motorway or on a bus shelter in your town or city. The brand theme ‘WORK IS LIFE. PROTECT IT. is the common theme and as such is always visible and recognisable.

Safety and comfort is… OXXA®

From three brands to one strong brand. And the products of the disappearing brands all come back in the renewed OXXA®. For years OXXA® has been the market leader in the premium segment for safety gloves. With the merger of the current own brands under this name, Majestic offers three different lines of personal protective equipment, each with its own characteristics. All with a focus on safety and comfort.

Three sub-lines in the collection

From now on, the OXXA® PPE range will be divided into three different lines – OXXA® Basic, OXXA® Essential and OXXA® Premium – each with its own characteristics. Nothing will change as far as the products are concerned. As you would expect, they will continue to be of high quality – and in some cases even better – and will remain qualified to meet the highest demands. In 2021, they will undergo a step-by-step visual metamorphosis (product and packaging printing) and a name change in line with this rebranding.

Benefits of the OXXA X-Cut-Flex IP 51-705

In addition to polyester, spandex and HPPE, the wearer of the work gloves is equipped with stainless steel fibres that ensure very high cut resistance (cut class D). The combination of the extra long cuff and the TPR hand protection gives the OXXA X-Cut-Flex IP 51-705 maximum protection for hand and wrist. Thanks to its NFT coating (Nitrile Foam Technology), the glove has a very good grip on dry, greasy and oily objects.

Areas of application

The above properties ensure that the OXXA X-Cut-Flex IP 51-705 work gloves can be used very well in the following application areas:

  • Offshore
  • Transport/logistics
  • Construction
  • Assembly
  • Civil engineering
  • Scaffolding
  • Steel industry

Wat houdt snijklasse D in?

Cut Class D = gloves suitable for applications requiring high cut resistance. These are tested according to EN ISO 13997. Compared to the old test, this test has the great advantage that the knife cannot become blunt and tests are carried out with increasing weights. This test corresponds well to the reality.

Why TPR hand protection?

When choosing an impact work glove, one of the most important features is the TPR (thermo plastic rubber) hand protection. TPR is a moulded material on the top of the glove that provides protection from impact.

Existing standards are regularly reviewed and, if necessary, updated in order to continue to optimise the safety and personal protection of employers and employees. Recently, the standard EN 388:2003 has been replaced by EN 388:2016. With the renewal of this standard, the cutting classes, among other things, have been revised. For this reason, we have decided to optimise the oxxa-diamond range.

Features of the improved OXXA-Diamond range

  • De snijklasse van de handschoen is duidelijk zichtbaar voor de arbeider en de werkgever door markering op de manchet
  • The user no longer needs to take off the glove to adjust machines or operate a smartphone or touchscreen. This directly increases safety for the wearer.
  • Also in the improved range, all work gloves are treated with the sanitized® technology. This inhibits bacterial growth and prevents unpleasant odours. This ensures a longer life for the gloves.

Certified according to EN 388:2016 & EN 511:2006

The European standard EN 388:2003, the most common standard for work gloves, was revised to EN 388:2016 at the end of 2016. This standard applies to all types of gloves that protect against physical and mechanical hazards caused by abrasion, cuts, punctures and tears.

Standards provide, among other things, further information on specific technical requirements, performance and protection levels. The changes provide more clarity. This allows you to make even better choices as to which work gloves are most suitable for your activities.

The EN 388:2016 standard includes up to six separate mechanical performance measures, including two scores for cut resistance and the first ever test method for shock resistance (new) as opposed to the previous four performance measures.

En 511: 2006 protection against cold

This standard applies to gloves that protect the hands from convective and contact cold down to -50°C. Cold protection is indicated by a pictogram, followed by a series of three performance levels, which refer to specific protective properties.

Review every five years

Every five years it is checked whether a PPE standard can continue to exist for another five years or needs to be adapted. This five-year pattern is imposed by CEN (Comité Européen de Normalisation).
